  2022-06-07

Cell-cell junction proteins were the first upstream modules to be characterized as contact sensors through the Hippo pathway. These junctions may be divided in 2 categories: adherens and epithelial polarity junctions. The establishment of intercellular contacts involves the cadherin proteins present

  2022-06-07

Continuing studies of endocannabinoid ligands at GPR55 reveal that virodhamine (O-arachidonylethanolamine) and AEA can act as a partial agonists at GPR55; at high micromolar concentrations can inhibit β-arrestin recruitment (Sharir et al., 2012). It is likely that there are allosteric as well as ort

Methods Results Discussion Conclusion The in vivo pEC50 for NEFA release in the rat was derived for 12 GPR81/GPR109A agonists, including the historically well-known nicotinic acid. By integrating in vitro cell assay potency data for both receptors, these in vivo pEC50 values could be rea

• Selective pharmacological inhibition of tonic

  2022-06-07

Selective pharmacological inhibition of tonic currents indicated that the effects of gp120 are predominantly mediated by α5-containing GABAARs. The other dominant subtype that contributes to tonic current in the hippocampus, the δ-containing GABAAR, was unaffected by gp120 treatment. Additionally, i

Material and methods Results Discussion The inhibitory action of a GABA agonist, muscimol, on the level of mRNA encoding GnRH in the POA-hypothalamus [25] of follicular-phase sheep has suggested that at the hypothalamic level GABA may exert a suppressive effect on subsequent steps of the Gn

• Mast cells isolated from mice and rats

  2022-06-06

Mast consistency isolated from mice and rats are able to take up histamine from the microenvironment (Day and Green, 1962, Cabut and Haegermark, 1966). It has been considered that the uptake of extracellular histamine into bone marrow-derived mast cell granules is mediated by two membrane transport

The GABA-A receptors containing the δ subunit are crucial for the mediation of non-synaptic inhibition in the dentate gyrus; thus, the decreased expression of the δ subunit may suggest a decrease in the inhibitory tone and an increase in the neuronal excitability. Moreover, the GABA-A receptors cont

  2022-06-06

Macroautophagy (hereafter referred to as autophagy) depends on an intracellular lysosome-dependent degradation system that maintains cellular metabolism and homeostasis [11]. Genes involved in these processes are termed autophagy-related genes (ATGs), which regulate autophagosome formation and compl

Most studies to date have focused on the physiological functions of FPS in plants. As mentioned above, numerous factors affect FPS expression and FPS function. However, FPS enzymatic assays require radiolabeled substrate and thus detailed enzymatic characterizations of FPS, including substrate speci

The replenishment time course of already-tethered vesicle to became release ready, was examined by TIRFM imaging combined with calcium uncaging. By UV-flash photolysis of caged calcium, intracellular calcium concentration raises rapidly and homogenously throughout the cell (Ellis-Davies, 2008). Upon

Introduction Stroke is the second cause of death worldwide and the first cause of acquired motor disability in adults [1], [2]. In sub-Saharan Africa, stroke is the first cause of admission in neurology departments [3]. In Cameroon, the in-hospital mortality of stroke is estimated at 26.8% [4]. A
